Eng. (Dr.) Charles Mwaniki, is a senior lecturer at Machakos University in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology. He is also a registered by Engineers Board of Kenya as a professional Electrical and Electronics Engineer.

His area of research is Electrical Power System Stability and Control. He has published several papers in peer reviewed journals as reflected in the google scholar and supervised post graduate students to graduation. He has spearheaded a number of collaborations both national and international and a member of various university committees.

Currently he is doing a research project entitled: BARIDI SANA – High performance micro-2-phase cooling system for Space Applications. The participating organizations are Machakos University, Sapienza University of Rome and In-Quattro srl.

The project is an initiative of United Nations/ China Cooperation on Utilization of the China Space Station (CSS) and is being implemented by Office for Outer Space Affairs (OOSA) and China Manned Space Agency (CMSA)

The objective of the project is to develop and test in-orbit a two phase mechanically pumped thermal management system, cooled by an organic refrigerant, with a micro- multichannel heat sink to vary its performance in space applications.

My assignment in this project is in spacecraft power electronics and power systems.
